I would like to express my gratitude to all of my students for your ongoing support. May your life continue to be bountiful and full of love.
As you all know, life is full of surprises and changes. We can resist change or choose to "go with the flow". Resistance to change is similar to paddling upstream. The stream will continue to flow in the same direction, whether we like it or not. And life will be full of changes too. In fact, life IS change. Birth, growth, death: these are all inevitable changes. This is not to say we should simply abandon all efforts of steering our lives in the direction we would like to travel. Discernment and sensitivity are crucial. Navigating towards what is important to us while maintaining an open mind requires finding a balance between adhering to the strength of our convictions and the flexibility to adjust our perspective if necessary. It can be inspiring and exciting to know that change is just around the corner. New opportunities present themselves all the time.
If you are visiting my website for the first time, I hope you have been inspired to visit because you are seeking to make a change in your life. Yoga can be a great path towards spiritual growth. It encourages us to keep learning about ourselves and our connections to the world. I hope you will be inspired to move onto your yoga mat to create the change you would like to see in your life. I invite you to deepen your practice, or create a new one.
A Little bit about Susan
I have been practicing and teaching yoga for over 20 years. I studied many different types of yoga before I discovered Anusara Yoga and believe that Anusara, with its heart-lifting philosophy of seeing the good in everything, allows yoga to be more accessible and enjoyable for beginners as well as long-time students. I have recently completed my training for the first level of certification in Anusara Yoga. (learn more about Anusara at www.Anusara.com )
I think of yoga as a journey rather than a destination. It’s not about achieving a “goal” – it’s the process that delivers the benefits. And the beauty of it is that it requires so little from the beginner….simply having your heart in the right place!
I offer gentle beginner classes for those who would like to improve their health, increase their flexibility and enhance their sense of well-being in a non-competitive, nurturing environment as well as Intermediate classes for those who have been practicing for a while and enjoy more challenge and depth. I enjoy teaching small classes where people feel comfortable. My approach is gentle, supportive, patient, and enthusiastic.
I will be teaching a few additional Friday classes this summer at 8 Petals.
The dates are July 11, 18, & 25 and August 8 & 15.
Class time is 12:15- 1:45pm.
